Sphereimals - Outdoor Toy Project For Worlds Apart

SPHERIMALS

I have has proposed a set of toys that encourages children to use their creativity & imagination.

After opening the external packaging the child (3-6yrs) will find themselves with 3 different Sphereimals and 3 books that link to a range of outdoor activities. The small, square sized books that accompany this set will have a prompt page within the story, instructing the child to carry out these exciting outdoor activities. By adding an example of this activity within the toy (such as daisy chain making) it allows them to immediately get hands on with activity.

Collecting gives children a set of comprehensive skills to take forward as they grow up, including: personal responsibility, organisation, understanding of mathematics, reading skills, social skills and even budgeting skills. It's pretty common for kids to spend hours arranging their collection and reading about the items, as well as talking about them with friends and family.

Aid Communication

By bumping the Sphereimal heads together they can communicate, via an NFC and audio chip. Communication combined with role-play is essential for early learners to develop socially. Each Sphereimal will have a set of different voice outputs, when they are in contact with one an other and will alter their responses depending on their opposing Sphereimal.

-    NFC Chip
-    Simple Speaker Module
-    Replaceable Battery

Spark Creativity

When opened, each Sphereimal reveals an outdoor activity to encourage the child to think creatively whilst being in outside in the fresh air. Whether it be daisy chain making or potato stamping each activity is different, offering a diverse set skills to be learned.

Encourage Literacy

The stories provided aim to challenge children with creative tasks, whilst helping them develop their basic language skills. Creating playful characters with a personality was essential in bringing them to life and spark children's imaginations.

So What Is The Problem?

We are at a time where children are embracing technology at such a young age for its conveniance and ease of use. However, instead of handing a child a tablet or sitting them in front of a television we should be encouraging them to explore the outdoors and develop their creative thinking.

Unhealthy living is on the rise, so by creating challenging games, for early learners, that prompts an active lifestyle, we can slowly show them the important qualities of learning.
